Jr. EH&S Engineer


This person is responsible for implementing a functional EH&S management system (environmental and general legal work processes, standards, procedures) to ensure that all Trinseo departments operate within the scope of the operating permit granted and can meet the objectives of the Responsible Care program for Trinseo.

Responsibilities

  • Safety inspection of operating facilities and technical work equipment, especially before commissioning and work procedures
  • Verification of compliance with occupational health and safety and accident prevention regulations
  • Incident and Emission Manager (BImSchG § 58a) (Störfallbeauftragter für Stockhausen
  • Dangerous goods officer
  • Implementation of the requirements according to §§ 3- 5 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act SiFa (Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit)
  • Advising those otherwise responsible for occupational health and safety and accident prevention on various occasions, such as:
    • Planning, execution and maintenance of operating facilities and of social and sanitary facilities.
    • Assessment of working conditions
  • Safety inspection of operating facilities and technical work equipment, especially before commissioning and work procedures
    • Observation of compliance with occupational health and safety and accident prevention
    • Additional Task - Participate in the EHS Breakthrough Meeting.
    • Leading the ASA
    • Reporting of contractor hours
    • Reporting SoP to Business
    • Updating and reporting Safety performance frequently
    • Leading the Safety Officers Meeting in cooperation with the RCL
    • Conducting training and education

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following fields:

  • Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety or related technical disciplines 
  • professional edusaction as safety expert (Sicherheitsfachkraft BGRCI)
  • dangerous goods officer
  • Very good English language skills 
  • Structured, careful an reliability way of working, as well as a high ability to work in a team
