As ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) reporting continues to gain prominence globally and closer and more integrated in financial reporting, we recognize the importance of transparent and accurate disclosures to meet upcoming regulatory requirements (e.g., CSRD and SEC) and stakeholder expectations. Sufficient and reliable data, processes, and systems need to be enabled in order to meet these compliance / reporting obligations, and various stakeholder needs (including customers and vendors). 

 

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced ESG Reporting Specialist/Leader to join our Sustainability Business Unit-team and lead our efforts in meeting evolving ESG reporting obligations.

 

This role can be based out of multiple of our EMEA locations.

Responsibilities

 

·       Ongoing responsibility for the collection, analysis, and management of data related to ESG metrics, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and reliability.

·       Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, capture, and enhance relevant ESG data points across the organization.

·       Collect, analyse, and manage data for mandatory and voluntary reporting frameworks and assessment tools like CDP, EcoVadis and others.

·       Ensure reliable data and supporting work processes, policies, etc.

·       Coordinate SBTI efforts and data requirements.

·       Primary owner of ESG compliance and voluntary reporting (including compliance with US SEC standards, EU CSRD, etc) and publication of Annual Sustainability & Corporate Social Responsibility Report

·       Responsible for maintaining ongoing understanding of ESG reporting requirements (with emphasis on US and Europe) and collaborating on regulatory reporting efforts as needed with Legal and Finance.

·       Coordinate with local stakeholders to support regulatory reporting efforts and manage ongoing analyses to determine applicability of these standards to Trinseo

·       Stay abreast of new voluntary ESG reporting requirements like GRI, SASB, TCFD, SBTI, CDP, globally

·       Develop and implement processes to ensure compliance with current and upcoming ESG disclosure standards.

·       Manages annual materiality assessments

·       Prepare and submit timely and accurate ESG data and metrics, aligning with regulatory frameworks and guidelines.

·       Cross-functional (finance, legal, EH&S, etc) coordination and engagement to draft, review, and ultimately publish required ESG reporting

·       Manages annual stakeholder engagement process to facilitate materiality assessments

·       Act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including customers, vendors, and regulatory bodies.

·       Collaborate with various teams to address stakeholder inquiries and requests related to ESG reporting.

·       In support of Company’s ESG goals & related reporting requirements, this role will co-own and lead the Company’s ESG data and technology strategy, in collaboration with IT

·       Responsible for prioritizing unmet ESG data and technology needs, and collaborating cross-functionally to establish processes and technology solutions to meet those needs

·       Responsible for understanding key stakeholder ESG data needs (internal and external) and collaborating with ESG goal owners and functional leadership to systematically meet those needs

·       Evaluate, implement, and optimize systems and technologies to support ESG data collection, reporting, and analysis.

·       Ensure the integration of future ESG reporting requirements into existing financial reporting systems.

·       Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of ESG reporting.

·       Monitor industry best practices and trends to stay ahead of evolving ESG reporting standards

Qualifications

·       Bachelor's degree in Sustainability / ESG studies, Finance, Data Management & Analytics or other relevant fields;

·       An advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA, GRI) is a plus
·       10-12 years of experience relevant professional experience
·       Proven experience in ESG reporting, sustainability, or related fields, with a solid understanding of global ESG standards and frameworks.

·       Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret and communicate complex data effectively.

·       Process improvement and internal controls, including experience in designing, documenting, implementing, and improving work processes

·       Experience with data, analytics and related industry leading tools preferred

·       Ability to comprehend and explain complex systems processes, logic, calculations, and validations

·       Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

·       Read, write, and speak English

·       Experience working with cross-functional teams and engaging with diverse stakeholders.

·       Familiarity with ESG reporting tools and platforms.

·       Familiar with data systems like Enablon, Workday, etc.

·       Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

·       Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

·       Experience with multinational, public companies preferred

·       Chemicals/Manufacturing industry experience a plus
