The Junior Sustainability & LCA Specialist supports Trinseo’s sustainability initiatives  related to CSRD and Scope 3 requirements. This role interacts directly with customers to communicate sustainability benefits and supports commercial teams in addressing customer inquiries and discussions related to sustainability performance. The incumbent also assists in managing responses to sustainability rating platforms such as Eco Vadis and CDP and has an assisting role on Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) and Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) assessments

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and submission of CSRD and Scope 3 reporting.

  • Assist on and perform Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) and Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) analyses, supporting sustainability and eco-innovation projects.

  • Serve as a point of contact for customers, explaining LCA results and sustainability initiatives.

  • Collaborate with commercial teams, providing necessary information and guidance for customer engagement.

  • Assist in managing responses to sustainability questionnaires and assessments (Eco Vadis, CDP).

  • Prepare clear, concise, and accurate sustainability reports and presentations.

  • Collaborate internally across functions, including Technology & Innovation, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Commercial Teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering.
  • Master’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, or related discipline with a specialization and an affinity to sustainability.
  • Entry-level position: recent graduate or up to 2-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Basic knowledge of Life Cycle Assessment methods and relevant software tools (e.g., GaBi, SimaPro).
  • Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., GHG Protocol, CSRD, SBTi).
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to process and interpret sustainability data.
  • Advance proficiency in Excel modelling and experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI etc) and data flow and data lake is a plus.
  • Interest in AI automatization
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to present complex information clearly to non-specialist audiences.
  • Customer-focused mindset, willingness to directly engage and support customers.
  • Self-organized, curious, proactive, and motivated to develop within the company.
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal).
