For our Latex Binders R&D Center of Excellence in Rheinmünster, Germany close to Strasbourg and Karlsruhe we are looking for a:

 

Master Student for a Gap Year (m/f/d) in our Synthesis Laboratories

Responsibilities

  • Synthesis of dispersions (polymer emulsions), using automated lab reactors, as part of Research & Development project(s) for Adhesives, Construction, Textile and Battery applications.
  • Characterization of colloidal properties and data recording into a database.
  • On need analysis of plant or customer samples (scale-up, troubleshooting).
  • Learning of the lab specific safety procedures, analytical methods and laboratory operating procedures.
  • Close collaboration with the lab team.
  • Project presentation to the R&D Department at the end of the internship.

Qualifications

  • Master student in Chemistry, Polymer / Material Science or Chemical Engineering.
  • Strong interest in working within research/polymerization laboratories. Passion and curiosity for polymerization, chemistry and technology.
  • Initiative and autonomy in carrying out the experiments.
  • Good communication and interpersonal team skills.
  • Good working knowledge of English. German is not required, but is an advantage.
  • Good computing skills (Windows / Microsoft Office package).
